A Florida native and life-long resident, Ms. Harrell graduated from the University of Florida in 2004 with both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree, earning spots on the Dean’s List and cum laude for both. After graduating, she attended the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University. She graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2007, again on the Dean’s List and earning numerous other awards and distinctions.
A Commitment to Community
Before being admitted to the bar, Ms. Harrell demonstrated her passion for advocacy and received a Florida Bar Foundation Public Service Fellowship. She did Public Service work for the Guardian Ad Litem Program, Legal Aid Service of Broward County, and AIDS Project Florida.
Deep and Diverse Experience
Once admitted to the bar, Ms. Harrell began her career by representing defendants in all areas of general liability and bodily injury claims as a lawyer at a large defense firm. Her practice was particularly focused on negligent security, premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, product liability, and wrongful death.
Ms. Harrell then transitioned into a focus on professional liability defense. She represented lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers, realtors, and other non-medical professionals in a wide variety of claims and suits and then became a member of an Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Practice Group at a large regional firm.
During her legal career, Ms. Harrell also gained experience handling complex commercial litigation cases, representing corporations and governmental entities in matters such as insurance insolvency, business torts, and commercial landlord/tenant disputes. She has been involved in complex and lengthy trials, including a nine-week trial with 29 live witnesses, and a three-week trial with over 500 defense exhibits, both of which resulted in defense verdicts.

Ms. Harrell’s practice focuses on first-party property coverage and coverage disputes, particularly those involving windstorm, fire, mold, and water losses. She helps her clients respond to and defend claims at every stage, including pre-suit investigations.
